The 2016 vintage started in mid March, which was a slightly earlier time of year to harvest our Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon grapes. The growing season experienced average winter rainfall and temperatures were mild. The summer was relatively mild and moist with small amounts of drizzly rain. Birds were their usual hungry selves, so all vines were netted to prevent bird damage and disease. This resulted in clean, ripe and well balanced fruit. Harvesting was a challenging time once again, with constant light drizzle and cool temperatures. We successfully harvested the last of the white grapes before the heavy rain started. The vines cropped and average of 4.0 tonne per hectare of fruit.

Wanting to produce a fruity style, this wine was created through a balanced blend of Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit was de-stemmed, basket pressed then fermented slowly at 15 ºC in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks. The wine was blended prior to bottling and stelvin closures were used to preserve the vibrant fresh flavours.
